Arcola High School Torch The Torch has been the yearbook for AHS since the 1920s. Follow this page for highlights, updates, alumni flashbacks and more information about the Torch.

★The Torch will post photo highlights of the current school year and flashback photos of previous years.
★While the Torch is, and has always been, the yearbook at AHS, it is also a product of the journalism classes at AHS. Occasionally we may also post quotes or stories, both past and present.
★Additionally, info about the sale of yearbooks, and Torch fundraisers will be posted. Chances are, thumbing through your yearbook brings back memories. We're here to capture and keep those memories alive.

The Arcola Alumni Association held its annual Distinguished Alumni Banquet on Saturday, October 17, 2026 at Kaskaskia Country Club.

The 4 honorees of the Class of 2026 are: Dr. Robert William “Bob” Vyverberg (AHS 1959), Phillip Michael “Mick” Howrey (AHS 1966), Cindy Shonkwiler Arthur (AHS 1975), and Angie McCormick Gentry (AHS 1983).

(Shonkwiler was unable to attend, but will be honored at the 2027 banquet.)

We have added an album with over 100 photos from the banquet. Photos are in no particular order.

On Tuesday evening, our school community gathered for a vibrant Hispanic Heritage Night. Designed through a collaborative effort among students, faculty, and local community members, the event brought our rich, diverse background together for an evening of shared learning, culture, and fun.

Remi Roberts-McGeehon and Brody Phillips represented Arcola High Arcola Jr. Sr. High School - Arcola, IL at the IHSA State Track Meet a few weeks ago.

Remi qualified in the long jump.

Brody qualified in the 100M, where he ran his season-best time.

Congratulations, boys!

Photos: Braden Phillips (AHS 2025) was our photography intern for the meet, helping Ms. Coombe get pics of our boys and other area athletes for the local newspaper.
