Our Lady Rams volleyball came back stronger and took care of business at Owen! Improving our record to an impressive 11-1. One setback didn’t slow us down; we’re back on track and ready to finish the regular season strong with 2 home games  @4:30 next week on Monday & Wednesday. Come support your lady Rams. 🏐💙💛🐏

The Tenney Team had a brisk morning in the woods! Student scientists learned about air, soil, and water quality. They also explored the native species’ diversity on our campus and the invasive species trying to take over!
A BIG thank you to all of the volunteers who came out to make this Science Field Day possible.

CROSS COUNTRY~~
The Valley Springs cross country team came away with two incredibly close runner-up finishes at the conference meet yesterday at Owen. The girls were edged out by eight points to North Buncombe, while the boys finished 12 points behind Reynolds.

The girls were led by seventh grader Julia Crave’s unbelievable second-place finish. Crave ran 14:06, an unofficial school record for a seventh grader and an astounding nearly five minutes faster than her first race of the season. Behind her, Elyah Deleon ran an incredible race to also run her fastest time of the season, while the consistent eighth grade duo of Charley Becker and Quinn Kiger both broke 15 minutes as well. Seventh grader Stacey Sevilla-Hernandez had her best race of the season to finish in 15:24.

On the boys side, Andrew Douglas also got a second-place medal by running a blazing fast 11:48. Maybe more impressive, though, was that he stayed picking up other people’s trash after the post-race award ceremony. Colvin “Wheaties” Anthony, Grant Gunnell, Darrel Gituma, and Reid Wingert rounded up the top five for the Rams, all running their fastest times of the season.

Both teams ran exactly what they needed to and can carry their heads high after a tremendous season. Great work, Rams!

What an incredible weekend of learning, laughter, adventure, and a little chilly weather!

Our Outdoor Education campers spent the weekend stepping outside their comfort zones, building friendships, working as a team, and learning valuable life skills that simply cannot be taught within four classroom walls.

From outdoor challenges and hiking to campfires and plenty of laughter, these students reminded us why experiences like this matter. It’s about building confidence, independence, resilience, and memories that will last long after the tents are packed away.
