The Sabbath: one of the greatest gifts God has given to man—even in the midst of disaster—still an incredible testament to God’s love for man. May all who suffer find refuge, peace, and rest in the unchanging character of Jesus Christ: the Lord of the Sabbath..

Happy Sabbath!

Amidst some of the toughest pain there are moments of beauty and blessing—our family although looking for their missing daughter took the time to be a blessing to some young boys and girls we met in a particularly hard hit area. Just to laugh and smile was a boost to the downtrodden spirit and helped move the focus to others needs—a sure remedy for depression and sadness!

The mud was a constant challenge—thick like wet concrete—this even after more than 2 weeks post flood; challenging environment for any one working to help; overwhelming; pray for the long work of recovery for many of these communities!!

Some long days searching with our new family and praying that God would give them comfort even as they personally walked through this valley of death… painstakingly slow and often without the results we desire—do we still trust God in our deepest moments of pain? Job 13:15

Spent some quality time with a family this weekend looking for their daughter/niece/friend—this is one story of tragedy out of thousands. Reminds us of the words of John in Revelation 22:20 “Even so, come quickly Lord Jesus”…

“The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom, And before honor is humility.” Proverbs 15:33

Literally as we were spending time with the kids in the camp the call came to ask if we would help with the rescue of someone still alive from the flood.

The Nepali police did an excellent job extracting the 64 year old woman and we assisted in landing the aircraft for a medical evacuation. The Nepali rescue team are the real heroes—humble men serving in very difficult conditions. We were truly blessed to witness such a miracle.

10 days no food or water…. Physically impossible. Truly God sustained this woman and granted the gift of new life!!!
