The Ardmore Lions Club wants to share their love for service by challenging students at Ardmore High School and homeschool students in the Ardmore area to achieve the Young Leaders in Service Award by volunteering at least 50 hours in our local community. Through the Lions Young Leaders in Service Awards, the Lions encourage youth in the philosophy and habit of service to the community. This recognition opportunity benefits youth by developing life skills, providing an acknowledgement from an international association that can be used for college and job applications.

To receive the award, a student must log 50 or more community service hours on the provided service hours tracking sheet and turn it in to the school counselor or Savannah Bentley by Saturday, May 1st. Hours must be earned between May 1st, 2026 and May 1st, 2027. Recipients will be recognized at the school Awards Day Program, as well as at an Ardmore Lions Club meeting. This recognition looks wonderful on scholarship and job applications. For any questions, please contact Savannah at 256.797.6674 or [email protected].

Lions Savannah Bentley, Roger Harwell and Patsy Harwell have enjoyed volunteering a few nights at the Athens Lions Club Kiddie Carnival. It’s wonderful to see the excitement on all of the children’s faces and watch them have some pure, old fashion fun!

Shout out to our fellow volunteer, CJ- he is a senior on the East Limestone High School football team! He had a great attitude and was awesome with the kids.

We’re looking forward to being there a few more nights this summer. Remember, they are closed for this week for the 4th!

The Club would like to extend a heartfelt congratulations to the recipients of the inaugural Heart Like A Lion Scholarship- Walker Tucker (trade path) and Kendall Lee (college path). Each were awarded $1,500 to use towards education expenses.

The Ardmore Lions Club believes that true leadership begins with service. Applicants were asked to write an essay about a time when they made a meaningful impact on their community and what they learned from their experience. Each applicant was very impressive!

Walker, Kendall, and their families were recognized at our Club meeting last night. Walker plans to attend Tennessee College of Applied Technology to become a certified electrician and Kendall will attend the University of North Alabama to pursue a nursing degree. We look forward to seeing what they accomplish in the future! πŸ’›πŸ¦πŸ’™
