🚒 Training Today for a Safer Tomorrow! 🔥

Ardmore Fire & Rescue is always looking for ways to better serve and protect our community. Our members recently had the opportunity to complete training in the burn trailer provided by the Alabama Fire College.

Hands-on training like this allows our firefighters to sharpen their skills, build confidence, and prepare for the challenges they may face when responding to real emergencies.🚒🔥

🚒✨ What a great couple of days at Bright Beginnings Learning Center! ✨🚒

On Thursday and Friday, we had the opportunity to visit Bright Beginnings Learning Center and spend some time with their students! The students got to learn more about our trucks, explore the equipment, and learn about all the hard work that goes into keeping our community safe. 🧑‍🚒🔥

We loved getting to share, teach, and hopefully spark a little interest in fire safety and what we do! ❤️

A huge thank you to Bright Beginnings Learning Center for welcoming us and giving us the opportunity to spend time with your students. We truly appreciate you sharing your time with us! 🫶🚒

🚒 MEMBER SPOTLIGHT: CAPTAIN BEN CLARK 🚒

This week, we’re proud to spotlight Captain Ben Clark, Rank/Identifier 2405, who has served with Ardmore Fire & Rescue for 21 years.

Ben has also worked with Athens Fire & Rescue for 18 years. Outside the station, he enjoys hunting and traveling. 🦌🏝️

We asked Ben a few questions to help our community get to know the firefighter behind the gear. 👇

1. What is your favorite piece of equipment, and why?
- Ben’s favorite pieces of equipment are the Sawzall, because of its versatility, and the mini cutter, because it is specialized for situations when nothing else will work.

2. What is your favorite truck, and why?
- Ben’s favorite truck is the Heavy Rescue because of its extrication capabilities and equipment. He also appreciates Medic 124 because of the ability to provide ALS care as an Advanced EMT.

3. What three words would you use to describe your experience with Ardmore Fire & Rescue?
- Family, Mentorship, and Support.

These three words capture what makes the fire service so meaningful to Ben: the strong family and friendship within the department, the value of learning and mentoring younger members within the department, and the confidence that comes from knowing your team is always there to support you.

As an Advanced EMT, Ben brings valuable experience, knowledge, and compassion to every call. His leadership and commitment continue to make a difference for both his fellow firefighters and the community he serves.

Thank you, Captain Ben Clark, for 21 years of dedication, leadership, and service to Ardmore Fire & Rescue, 18 years with Athens Fire & Rescue, and our community! 🚒❤️‍🔥
