This is not a post I ever thought I would be making, but in a world where everything seems to make its way onto Facebook immediately, I feel it’s appropriate to let our community know.
This evening, I was involved in an accident while responding to an emergency call. Thankfully, I am doing okay, and the other party was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
I’ve had a ton of people reach out to check on me, and I truly appreciate every message, call, and concern. It means more than you know.
I’m also incredibly thankful for my team. They responded, handled the vehicle accident, and continued on to take care of the other alarm we were originally dispatched to. Being surrounded by a great group of people who step up when it matters most is something I don’t take for granted. I can truly tell how much they care.
Accidents happen, and tonight I’m simply thankful that everyone is okay.
Thank you to everyone who reached out, and thank you to the men and women who were there tonight doing what they do. I’m grateful for all of you.

🇺🇸🇺🇸 250 FREEDOM FEST 🇺🇸🇺🇸

What an amazing day celebrating 250 years of American freedom and serving our community! 🇺🇸

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to check out the trucks, visit with our members, and enjoy all the activities. We had a great time interacting with everyone and being a part of such a special day!

A special shout-out to our AOFPD members who showed up, put in the time, and helped throughout the entire day. From setting up and helping with activities to talking with community members and keeping the trucks ready for visitors — your dedication and willingness to give your time is what makes our department and community so special.

We are proud to serve this community and even prouder to be a part of days like this where we can come together, celebrate, and make memories.

Thank you, Argenta-Oreana! 🇺🇸🚒❤️

250 years of freedom. 250 years of America. And one amazing community to celebrate it with!

🇺🇸 25 YEARS LATER — WE STILL REMEMBER. 🇺🇸

Twenty-five years ago today, our nation witnessed something that none of us will ever forget.

As firefighters, September 11th carries a meaning that is difficult to put into words.

We remember the 343 firefighters who went to work that morning, put on their gear, and answered the call — never knowing it would be their last.

They climbed the stairs while others were coming down.

They ran toward the danger while others were running away.

They did what firefighters have always done — they put others before themselves.

Here at the Argenta-Oreana Fire Protection District, we are a small-town fire department. Our trucks may not roll through the streets of New York City, and our calls may look different, but the commitment is the same.

When the tones drop, we leave our families, our jobs, our dinners, our beds and whatever else we may be doing — and we respond.

Because someone needs help.

That is what they did 25 years ago.

Today, we honor the 343 who never came home.

We honor the thousands of first responders who worked through unimaginable conditions.

We honor the families who lost husbands, wives, fathers, mothers, sons, daughters, brothers and sisters.

And we remember the incredible unity of a nation that stood together in the days that followed.

Twenty-five years have passed, but the sacrifice has not been forgotten.

From our firehouse to theirs:

We remember.
We honor.
We will never forget.

🇺🇸 September 11, 2001 — 25 Years Later. 🇺🇸

🚒 343 firefighters. One sacrifice. Never forgotten.

It’s National Emergency Services Day.

The EMTs.
The paramedics.
The firefighters.
The police officers.
The dispatchers.
The emergency room teams.

They meet people on the worst days of their lives.

Car accidents.
Heart attacks.
Fires.
Missing children.
Calls no family ever wants to make.

They miss dinners.
Birthdays.
Holidays.
Bedtimes with their own kids.

Because someone else’s emergency doesn’t care what day it is.

You might only know them for 10 minutes.

But those 10 minutes might be the reason you get the rest of your life.

Today is for the ones who answer the call.

Thank you.

🚒 Mutual Aid Fire Response 🚒

Tonight at 17:58, the Argenta Oreana Fire Protection District was dispatched to a mutual aid fire on cabin road along with Cerro Gordo Fire Protection District for a first alarm response.

AOFPD responded with 711, 712, 724, 726, 728, and 729, along with 14 personnel.

Due to the location and the large amount of smoke visible while responding, a second alarm was requested for additional water and manpower. This brought four additional departments to the scene.

711 arrived first to find a 40×60 shed fully involved. A defensive attack was established, and crews brought the fire under control after a short time.

Overhaul then began. Due to the size and construction of the metal building, crews had to remove sections of metal to reach and extinguish remaining hot spots. This process took time, but crews continued working until the fire was fully extinguished.

All units cleared the scene around 21:00.

We would like to thank Cerro Gordo Fire, Bement, Long Creek Fire, Hammond Fire, Cisco Fire, Mt. Zion Fire, and Dispatch for their mutual aid response and teamwork. The additional water and manpower were a tremendous help in getting this fire under control.

We also want to thank our members who responded and gave their time to serve the community on a holiday weekend.

Great work by everyone involved! 🚒

⚡️⚡️Today’s weather update ⚡️⚡️

Today’s weather is expected to bring two rounds of potentially severe storms. Please stay weather aware throughout the day and monitor forecasts for changing conditions.

These storms have the potential to produce heavy rainfall, large hail, damaging winds, and tornadoes.

We would also like to remind everyone not to move downed power lines or storm-damaged limbs until they have been evaluated and deemed safe. Power lines can remain energized even when lying on the ground and should always be treated as live.

Please allow Public Works, the Fire Department, and utility crews to assess and address hazards before attempting to help with cleanup efforts. We greatly appreciate the assistance our communities provide in clearing debris and reopening roads, but our top priority is ensuring everyone stays safe.

Thank you for your cooperation, and please stay alert throughout the day.
