DID YOU KNOW?

Research consistently shows a positive relationship between family involvement and student achievement — and being involved doesn't have to mean spending hours helping with homework.

Sometimes, it starts with one simple question:

“How was your day?”
“What did you learn?”
“What was the best part?”

Those little conversations send a big message: What happens at school matters to me.

Small things matter. Your involvement matters.

It’s fire safety week! Thank you to the Little Sandy Volunteer Fire Department for a great fire safety day! Students were gifted T-shirts and goody bags! We were ecstatic to see our Argillite logo on their newest fire truck! Students learned lots of emergency information through multiple stations. They competed in a firefighter obstacle course for class prizes and we had the best duck race finale! Winners threw a pie in someone’s face! We appreciate the positive impact LSVFD has in our community! Thank you for a wonderful day of fun and learning! Please see our previous post if your family is in need of a smoke detector. LSVFD will help you out! 👩‍🚒 🔥 💦

HOLIDAY ASSISTANCE

The holidays will be here before we know it, and our GC Schools FRYSC offices are once again accepting applications for holiday assistance for families in need.

Applications will be accepted October 1–30. Families who qualify will have the opportunity for their children to shop at Walmart with local first responders and community partners as part of Operation Holiday Heroes.

To apply, simply contact your child’s school FRYSC office between October 1 and October 30.

We’re thankful for our FRYSC teams, first responders and community partners who work together each year to help make the holidays a little brighter for our GC families in need!

Thank you to Kenny Imel - Imel’s Greenhouse, Hannah McGlone - Kee’s Farm Service, Corey Collins - Garrison Meat Processing, and Eric Hilton - local beekeeper, for sharing your knowledge and time with our students!
