Safety, great schools, proximity to large cities and inexpensive cost of living make Argos great! Argos is a small town located in north central Indiana. Conveniently located just off of US 31, we are 2 hours north of Indianapolis and 30 minutes south of South Bend, Indiana. The suburbs of Chicago can be reached in less than 2 hours. Our school system has won numerous academic awards. We have made many improvements to the town's infrastructure so that our residents have safe, smooth roads, clean drinking water and reliable electricity. The police and fire departments take great pride in providing professional, courteous service when needed.

🔥 Fire Prevention Week: A good reminder that fire safety starts at home.

Fire prevention isn’t just about knowing what to do when a fire starts—it’s about taking simple steps to help prevent one in the first place.

A few important reminders for every Argos household:
🏠 Check smoke alarms — Test regularly and have them on every level and near sleeping areas.
🚪 Have an escape plan — Know two ways out and choose a meeting spot outside.
🔥 Practice kitchen safety — Stay nearby while cooking and keep flammables away from the stove.
🔌 Check electrical safety — Don’t overload outlets or use damaged cords.
🧯 Know your extinguisher — Keep one accessible and know how to use it.
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Talk fire safety — Make sure everyone knows how to call 911, get out and stay out.

And speaking of fire safety education, we’re especially grateful for the Argos Fire Territory and the time they spend educating our community. This week, they visited our schools to teach local students about fire prevention and what to do in an emergency. 🚒

Thank you to our firefighters for teaching, preparing, protecting and always answering the call when Argos needs you. ❤️
Be sure to follow them for more helpful tips and to keep up on the wonderful things they are doing around the community!
