πŸš’πŸ’¦ TRAINING TONIGHT: DUMP TANK OPERATIONS! πŸ’¦πŸš’

When every second counts, having a reliable water supply can make all the difference!
Tonight, members of the Arley Volunteer Fire Department spent their training night working on dump tank operations, an essential skill when fighting fires in rural communities like ours.

πŸ”₯ Why are dump tanks so important?

In areas where fire hydrants are limited or unavailable, firefighters must rely on alternative methods to establish a continuous water supply. Dump tanks allow tanker trucks to quickly unload thousands of gallons of water into portable tanks, providing a water source for fire engines while tankers return to refill.
This operation is especially important during structure fires, where maintaining a steady water supply is critical to protecting lives, property, and our firefighters.

πŸ’ͺ Training today prepares us for the emergencies of tomorrow!

From setting up the tanks to coordinating water delivery, every part of this operation requires teamwork, communication, and practice. Tonight's training was another opportunity for our members to sharpen their skills and strengthen our ability to serve our community.

πŸš’ We may be volunteers, but our commitment to training and protecting our community is anything but part-time!

We are proud of our firefighters who continue to dedicate their time to learning, improving, and being ready when the call comes.

πŸš¨β›ˆοΈ ARLEY, PLEASE STAY WEATHER AWARE!

As Hurricane Isaias approaches the Gulf Coast, the Arley Volunteer Fire Department encourages everyone in Arley and the surrounding communities to remain alert and prepared for the possibility of severe weather.
Even though we are inland, tropical systems can bring dangerous conditions, including heavy rainfall, damaging winds, flash flooding, and isolated tornadoes.

⚠️ PLEASE TAKE A FEW MINUTES TO PREPARE!

πŸŒͺ️ Stay Informed: Monitor trusted weather sources and pay close attention to any watches or warnings issued for Winston County.

🏠 Know Your Safe Place: Have a plan for where you and your family will shelter if severe weather threatens our area.

πŸ“± Stay Connected: Keep your phones charged and emergency weather alerts enabled.

πŸ”¦ Be Prepared: Have flashlights, batteries, medications, and other emergency essentials readily available in case of power outages.

❀️ Check on Others: Make sure elderly family members, neighbors, and those who may need additional assistance are prepared.

πŸš’ The men and women of the Arley Volunteer Fire Department remain committed to the safety of our community. While we stand ready to respond when emergencies arise, preparation begins with each of us.

Please stay weather aware, take warnings seriously, and above all, stay safe!

πŸ”₯πŸš’ FIRE PREVENTION WEEK AT ARLEY FIRE DEPARTMENT! πŸš‘πŸ”₯

What an exciting day at the Arley Volunteer Fire Department!

We had the absolute pleasure of welcoming the students from Meek Elementary School to the station today as we celebrated Fire Prevention Week! We loved getting the opportunity to spend time with the students, show them around the fire station, introduce them to some of our equipment, and talk about the importance of fire safety.

We also had the opportunity to go visit with the Pre-K and Preschool students, and we enjoyed every minute of it! There’s just something special about seeing the excitement on their faces when the emergency vehicles and first responders arrive. ❀️

A huge THANK YOU to Central Fire Department for coming out and joining us today! Having another fire department participate gave the students an opportunity to see different equipment and learn a little about how other departments operate.

The kids also got to spend some time with the Winston County Rescue Squad and check out the ambulance! πŸš‘ They were able to see another important part of our local emergency response system and learn a little about what our EMS crews do when someone needs medical help.

And we’re pretty sure a few things were crowd favorites! πŸ˜‚ The kids LOVED the dump tank, watching the water spray from the nozzle, seeing the fire trucks and ambulance up close, and getting a glimpse into what our first responders do.

Days like today are about more than just having fun. They give us the opportunity to teach children about fire prevention, fire safety, and what to do in an emergency, while also helping them become comfortable with the firefighters, EMTs, and other first responders they may encounter during an emergency.

To the students, teachers, and staff of Meek Elementary, Pre-K, and Preschool β€” THANK YOU for spending part of Fire Prevention Week with us! We enjoyed every minute and hope the kids had just as much fun as we did.
And once again, a special thank you to Central Fire Department and Winston County Rescue Squad for joining us and helping make today such a fun and memorable experience for the kids!

πŸ”₯πŸš’πŸš‘ From all of us at Arley Volunteer Fire Department β€” Happy Fire Prevention Week! πŸš‘πŸš’πŸ”₯

🚨 FLASHING LIGHTS = EMERGENCY VEHICLES EXITING 🚨

If you’re traveling past the Arley Volunteer Fire Department, you may have noticed the flashing stop signs located in front of our station.

When those lights are FLASHING, it means a fire apparatus or ambulance is preparing to exit the station for an emergency call.

Our firefighters, EMTs, and paramedics may be responding to a fire, medical emergency, motor vehicle accident, or another urgent call where every second matters. Our emergency vehicles are large, require additional room to safely enter the roadway, and may be pulling out quickly once traffic has stopped.

πŸš’πŸš‘ When the lights flash, please STOP β€” we’re answering someone’s call for help.

The best advice is:
β€’ Come to a complete stop
β€’ Watch for emergency vehicles exiting the station
β€’ Remain stopped until the apparatus or ambulance has safely entered the roadway
β€’ Never attempt to drive around stopped traffic or beat the emergency vehicle

Taking just a few moments to stop helps protect our responders, other motorists, and the community we’re responding to serve.

Thank you for helping keep our crews safe.

🚨 BIG NEWS FOR ARLEY VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT! 🚨

We are incredibly excited and proud to
announce that Arley Volunteer Fire Department has been awarded its FIRST AFG GRANT! πŸŽ‰πŸ―πŸš’

This grant will allow our department to purchase new Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBAs) β€” one of the most important pieces of protective equipment our firefighters use when entering structure fires and other hazardous environments.

For a small volunteer department, an investment like this is HUGE.

These new SCBAs will help provide our firefighters with dependable respiratory protection, updated equipment, and greater confidence when they are called into environments where the air is unsafe to breathe.

More importantly, this isn't an investment that will benefit us for just one call or one year.

These SCBAs will help protect the men and women of Arley Volunteer Fire Department for years to come as they continue protecting our community.

This award also marks an exciting milestone for our department. Our first grant represents another step forward in building a stronger, safer, and better-equipped Arley Volunteer Fire Department.

Our firefighters volunteer their time to answer the call when our community needs them most. Providing them with the equipment they need to do that job safely is something we are incredibly thankful to be able to accomplish.

πŸ”₯ Safer firefighters.
πŸ”₯ Better equipment.
πŸ”₯ Stronger emergency response.
πŸ”₯ A continued commitment to the Town of
Arley and our surrounding community.

We are grateful for this opportunity and excited about what it means for the future of our department.

The future is getting brighter β€” and safer β€” for Arley Volunteer Fire Department! 🐯πŸ”₯πŸš’

A HUGE thank you to DH Grants for assisting us in making this grant possible.

πŸš’πŸš‘ CONGRATULATIONS, LESLIE AARON! πŸš‘πŸš’

The Arley Volunteer Fire Department is proud to congratulate Leslie Aaron on earning her National Registry EMT certification!

Leslie has put in the hours, completed the training, studied, practiced, and worked toward this goalβ€”and now all of that hard work has paid off. She is officially a Nationally Registered EMT! πŸŽ‰

For a volunteer fire department, having members who are willing to continue their education and expand their skills is incredibly important. Every additional EMT strengthens our ability to respond when our community calls, whether it's a medical emergency, motor vehicle accident, fire, or any other situation where someone needs help.

Leslie, your dedication to learning and your commitment to serving others have brought you to this moment, and we are proud to have you as part of the Arley Volunteer Fire Department.

πŸš’ TUESDAY NIGHT TRAINING πŸš’

Tuesday night was all about learning, building confidence, and getting hands-on experience!

Our newer members had the opportunity to get their first experience wearing and operating with SCBA air packs. They learned how the equipment fits, how it feels to breathe on air, and how important it is to become comfortable working while wearing full respiratory protection.

This was an important first step before moving into the next phase of their training β€” buddy searches. Working together, communicating, maintaining contact, and learning to search effectively are skills that have to be practiced long before they're needed in a real emergency.

Everyone starts somewhere. Training nights like this give our newer members the chance to learn from experienced firefighters, ask questions, make mistakes in a controlled environment, and build the skills and confidence they'll need on the fireground.

A big thank you to the experienced members who took the time to work one-on-one with our newer firefighters Tuesday night. Strong firefighters are built through training, teamwork, and repetition.

πŸ”₯ Train together. Work together. Go home together. πŸš’

πŸš’πŸš‘ CONGRATULATIONS, KELVIN DILL! πŸš‘πŸš’

The Arley Fire Department is proud to congratulate Kelvin Dill on officially passing the National Registry EMT examination!

Becoming an EMT takes dedication, countless hours of studying and training, and a commitment to developing the skills needed to care for others when they need it most. Kelvin accepted that challenge, put in the work, and earned this accomplishment.

We are especially proud to see one of our own continue to grow and further his education. Kelvin's new EMT certification doesn't just represent a personal achievementβ€”it adds another trained medical provider to our department and strengthens our ability to serve the citizens of Arley and the surrounding community.

Kelvin, congratulations on a job well done! Your hard work paid off, and your Arley Fire Department family is proud of you. We look forward to seeing you put those new skills to work serving our community. πŸš’πŸš‘
