We are so grateful for the community we have here in Arlington!
We want to give a HUGE shoutout to Keller Williams Realty for donating their time in honor of “Red Day” on May 14th.
What is Red Day, you ask? RED Day is KW’s annual day of giving back. It is one day each year when every KW agent and staff member takes a break from real estate to give back to their community.
We are honored that you chose Arlington Animal Services as one of your projects this year!!
*Also, Thank you to Arlington Parks, Recreation & Culture for all of your help with our beautification project!!*

UPDATE: You did it!! Latte was ADOPTED this morning❤️❤️❤️
As some of you may have seen, we held a mobile adoption event this past Saturday at The Parks Mall. One of our volunteers captured this photo of “Latte,” a 5-month-old Siberian Husky mix, patiently waiting for her forever family to find her. 🤍
Unfortunately, Latte didn’t find her home on Saturday, but we know her perfect match is still out there. She has been with us since April and is such a loving, sweet-natured pup who deserves a family to call her own.
Please help us share Latte’s story so we can help her finally find the forever home she’s been waiting for..

It's Wildlife Wednesday!!
Yesterday, one of our officers responded to a call regarding a snake that had become stuck on a glue trap. Upon arrival, the officer determined that the snake’s jaw and approximately three inches of its head and body were adhered to the trap. Extreme caution was used throughout the rescue efforts to prevent further injury to the animal.
The reporting citizen assisted by providing oil to help loosen the adhesive; however, due to the extent of the snake’s condition, additional assistance was needed. The officer transported the snake back to the shelter, where additional Animal Services Officers worked together to safely remove the snake from the glue trap. After a thorough evaluation confirmed the snake was not injured, it was successfully released back into its natural habitat.
This incident serves as an important reminder about the dangers associated with sticky/glue traps. While commonly used for pest control, these traps can unintentionally injure wildlife such as snakes, birds, lizards, and even household pets. Animals caught in glue traps often suffer from severe stress, dehydration, and significant injuries while attempting to escape.
Whenever possible, we encourage the use of safer and more humane pest control alternatives. We would also like to thank the citizen who assisted during this rescue and our dedicated team members for helping provide this animal with a second chance.
