Two Nevada Army National Guard UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters are now supporting overall firefighting efforts on the in Washoe Valley. Additionally, Nevada Guard handcrews, trained by Nevada Division of Forestry, are working on the ground in this multi-agency effort.

It has been twenty-three years since September 11, 2001. 8 EMTs/ Paramedics, 60 police officers, 343 firefighters and 2997 civilian's lives were lost. The whole world stood still on this day; we were united as one. We pay tribute to the heroes who persevered in the face of adversity and commemorate the lives lost. We consider the bravery, sacrifice, and resiliency that united our country on this Patriot Day. We will never ever forget.
