Join us next Thursday and Friday for the 15th Biennial Virginia Garrett Lectures on the History of Cartography!

This year's event, Frozen Frontiers: 500 Years of Mapping Antarctica, will explore how the southern continent was imagined, charted, and portrayed on maps from the 1500s to the present.

The two-day program will feature lectures, panel discussions, student posters, a planetarium show, and an exhibit opening that explore the cultural, political, and scientific influences that have shaped Antarctic cartography over the five centuries!

Our exhibit will allow viewers to journey through ice and time by exploring the pivotal maps that defined Antarctica from the cartographic collections at UTA Special Collections.

The 2026 World Cup is over, but the memory lives on!

We’re seeking community donations to document this hugely important moment in DFW history! Our team of archivists is asking the community to consider donating digital photographs and videos to help preserve the history of the 2026 World Cup in North Texas.

Whether you went to watch parties, gatherings, Texas Live, the Fan Festival, any of the nine matches in Arlington, or any other World Cup themed events - we want to preserve the FAN and community experience!
