ADR Society: George Mason University School of Law

ADR is looking for volunteers to help prepare our Mediation Regional Competition Teams. We need people to help them with moot practice! Please contact Tamira Roberson at [email protected] if you can help!

The ADR Society cordially invites all 1Ls and 2Ls (Day and Evening) to apply for membership on our General Board. Instructions for applications can be found on our TWEN page in the folder titled "General Board Information." The application period closes on Friday, February 13, 2015. The first ADR General Board Meeting for 2014-15 is today! 5pm, room 225.

Interested in competing against students from all around the world? Interested in traveling to Europe? Take a break from studying and come to a Vis Moot info session this week! Two sessions will be held on TOMORROW (Thursday, April 24), at 5 p.m. and again at 6 p.m. The room will be announced before the sessions, so watch for an update. Plus, pizza will be provided at the info sessions.

The Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot is one of the most prestigious moot court competitions in the world. This year, Mason students traveled to Hungary and Austria to compete against 296 teams from all over the world. Mason Law has performed extremely well at the Vis Moot in the past, with two teams reaching the Round of 16 (tying for 9th) and competitors receiving awards for individual excellence as well.

Students interested in private international law and commercial litigation are encouraged to consider applying to compete in the Vis Moot. The Moot focuses on international arbitration procedure and a substantive issue related to a sale of goods contract dispute governed by the U.N. Convention on the International Sale of Goods (CISG).
