HELP IDENTIFY | ARSON SUSPECT

We’re helping our partners at the Arlington Fire Department share this request for information.

The Arlington Fire Department’s Investigations Division is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect who set fire to a residence in South Arlington.

On October 13, 2026, at 10:33 p.m., a male suspect approached a home near Matlock Road, Minuteman Lane, and Colony Drive. He removed a long-stemmed lighter with a blue handle from his hoodie pocket and set fire to the home’s siding near the front door before leaving the property on foot.

Suspect description:
- Black, curly hair with short sides
- Green hoodie
- Black jogging-style pants
- Gray Crocs-style footwear

Anyone with information about this incident or the suspect’s identity is asked to contact Investigator J. Hurt at (817) 459-5549.

Thank you for helping our fire partners keep our community safe!

Big trucks, little smiles, and strong community connections! 🚔❤️

We had a wonderful time at Chick-fil-A’s Touch-A-Truck event! Families got an up-close look at emergency vehicles, and our officers enjoyed meeting some of our youngest neighbors and the people who make Arlington special.

These moments give children a chance to ask questions, get to know their first responders, and make happy memories along the way. For us, they’re opportunities to build trust and relationships that extend beyond the calls we answer.

Thank you to Chick-fil-A for the warm hospitality and to all the first responders, city personnel, and families who made the evening so much fun!

A heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who participated in Project 365 as part of National Night Out 2026!!

This year, we collected clothing and diapers to donate to The Archway, an awesome organization here in Arlington that provides assistance and resources to survivors of domestic violence and their children.

Thanks to the generosity of our incredible community, today, our Crime Prevention Unit was able to deliver a whole truck load of items to them!

Y'all rock!

We want to thank everyone who participated in National Faith and Blue Weekend 2026!

Here at APD, we recognize the vital role that our faith based organizations play in building safer, stronger communities. When we partner with them, we're able to reach and connect with more people, so we can share important public safety information and learn about any concerns they may have.

Over the weekend, officers were invited to attend services, helped with food drives, engaged with community members at picnics, and even held a church safety summit!

Today, we pause to remember the lives and service of Officer Terry Lewis and Reserve Officer Jerry Crocker, who were killed in the line of duty on October 9, 1992.

Both men had just finished responding to a call along N. Collins Street when a drunk driver struck their patrol vehicle, killing both of them.

This morning, APD employees joined members of the Crocker and Lewis families at their memorial marker to pay tribute to these outstanding men who were taken far too soon.

We will never forget them. 💙

And please, make responsible decisions when you consume alcohol. Find a sober ride. There are no excuses for drinking and driving.
