🚨 TEXANS NEED TO PAY ATTENTION TO THESE PROPOSITIONS 🚨
The May 2026 special edition of *The Clarion* highlights the Texas Democrat Primary Propositions and why many conservatives believe these policies could push Texas in the wrong direction.
These propositions include support for:
1️⃣ Expanding government-controlled healthcare
2️⃣ Supporting hormone procedures and expanded gender policies
3️⃣ Lowering the age for life-altering healthcare decisions
4️⃣ Expanding government intervention in housing
5️⃣ Reducing local control over public school funding
6️⃣ Increasing government salaries outside normal accountability processes
7️⃣ Expanding taxpayer-funded state healthcare systems
8️⃣ Increasing workplace regulations tied to personal employee matters
9️⃣ Expanding state control over investments and financial regulation
🔟 Redistricting approaches centered around racial considerations
1️⃣1️⃣ Redirecting public education funding priorities
1️⃣2️⃣ Expanding taxpayer-backed renewable public corporations
1️⃣3️⃣ Restricting individuals from public office over “misinformation” accusations or personal beliefs
Many Texans see these propositions as:
⚠️ bigger government
⚠️ weaker parental rights
⚠️ higher taxpayer burdens
⚠️ increased bureaucracy
⚠️ threats to constitutional freedoms
Frederick Douglass believed liberty depends on an informed citizenry. Texans cannot afford to ignore what is being proposed politically across this state.
Read the propositions.
Study the policies.
Get informed.
Vote wisely.

A commanding 27.6-point victory.

Today, we pause to honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to the United States of America. 🇺🇸
Memorial Day is more than the start of summer.
It is a sacred reminder that freedom is not free.
Across generations, American service members laid down their lives to defend this nation, our Constitution, our liberties, and the ideals that bind us together as Americans.
At the Frederick Douglass Republicans of Tarrant County, we remember their sacrifice with gratitude, humility, and prayer.
May we never take this country, our freedoms, or those who fought to protect them for granted.
God bless our fallen heroes.
God bless Texas.
And God bless the United States of America. 🇺🇸

Fort Worth families and community leaders helped shape an important local education decision this week.
Fort Worth ISD officially approved renaming César Chávez Elementary to Esperanza Elementary following a community-driven review process that included public surveys, campus committee recommendations, and board consideration.
“Esperanza,” meaning “hope,” reflects the voices of parents, educators, and residents who participated throughout the process.
Strong communities are built when citizens stay engaged in local schools, local government, and the future of the next generation. Decisions impacting children and education should never happen without community participation.
Frederick Douglass understood that education and civic involvement were foundational to a strong and self-governing society. That principle still matters today.
What role do you believe local communities should play in shaping education?

Texas is taking action to put American workers first.
Governor Greg Abbott has directed Texas state agencies and public universities to freeze new H-1B visa petitions while reviewing current program use. Attorney General Ken Paxton has also expanded investigations into North Texas businesses suspected of H-1B visa fraud and abuse.
This is about protecting opportunity, enforcing the law, and making sure skilled Texans are not pushed aside by systems that reward manipulation over merit.
Economic self-reliance, fair access to work, and strong families all begin with a labor market that respects American workers.
How important is it that Texas employers prioritize qualified workers already here?

Tarrant County voters, early voting for the May 26 Primary Runoff ends today, Friday, May 22.
This is one of those moments where citizenship becomes action. Local elections shape the communities we live in, the policies that affect our families, and the leadership that represents us at the state level.
Texas continues to focus on election integrity, including recent House interim discussions on voter registration, voter roll maintenance, and ensuring that only eligible U.S. citizens cast ballots.
Frederick Douglass believed self-government required an informed and engaged citizenry. That principle still matters.
Check your polling location, confirm your plan, and make your voice count.
What issue matters most to you in this runoff?
