Let's hear it for SGT Victor Jimenez-Cocio! ๐ He just completed his Associate of Science in Information Technology from San Joaquin Valley College! ๐จโ๐
SGT Jimenez-Cocio didn't leave his benefits on the tableโhe "stacked" them to reach his goals:
โ Post-9/11 GI Bill (Degree completion)
โ State Tuition Assistance (Academic support)
โ Credentialing Assistance (Oracle Certified Associate, Java SE 8 Programmer - In progress!)
He says it best: โGo for it, time will move on no matter what... the military as a whole has a lot of great educational benefits.โ ๐ง โจ
Don't let your benefits go to waste. Start your journey today!

๐ Did you know that failing a portion of your Credentialing Assistance (CA) path can lead to out-of-pocket costs?
Navigating CA requirements is crucial to avoiding unexpected recoupment. Here is what you need to know about training vs. exams:
๐ If you fail the CA training portion: It triggers a recoupment of the training cost. This applies even if you manage to pass the certification exam afterward!
๐ If you pass the training but fail the exam: It triggers a recoupment specifically for the exam cost.
To fully satisfy your CA requirements, you must successfully complete BOTH phases.
Leaders, share this post with your formations to ensure our personnel are informed before they request funding! Got questions about the CA process? Drop them in the comments below or contact your local education center. ๐บ๐ธ๐

Donโt let your Post-9/11 GI Bill go to waste! Transfer your benefit to your dependents sooner than later! As a reminder, there is a one-time 4-year service obligation from your accepted transfer date.

Let's talk about managing your education benefits and the relationship between FTA and CA.
โ MYTH: "My Federal Tuition Assistance (FTA) use does not affect my Credentialing Assistance (CA) use."
โ FACT: False! They share the same pot of money. The more FTA you use, the less CA you have available.
๐งฎ For example: If you use $3,500 of your $4,500 FTA cap for college courses, you will only have $1,000 left to use for CA.

We are here to answer a couple of questions on the 12 month suspenstion for FTA/CA.
Key takeaways:
-Two unsuccessful FTA/CA grades in a FY triggers a 12-month suspension, starting on the 2nd course's end date or grade entry.
-An approved suspension appeal does NOT waive course recoupment.
-You have exactly 60 days from notification to submit an appeal.

Thinking about going to college? Donโt forget to tap into your State Tuition Assistance (STA)! STA varies from state to state so contact your state education office for more information! ๐

๐จ ATTENTION SOLDIERS! It's and we have a critical update regarding your education benefits. ๐
โ MYTH: "Iโve used Credentialing Assistance (CA) before, so I don't need my Commander's approval this time."
โ FACT: False! Due to recent changes, ALL Soldiers must now get Commander approval to request either CA or Federal Tuition Assistance (FTA). No exceptions for past users!
โญ FIRST-TIME CA USERS: You have an additional requirement! You must complete the MilGears Career Assessment and upload the results to your ArmyIgnitED account before applying.
Don't let your training get delayed! ๐ฃ๏ธ Please SHARE this post to your unit pages or TAG your battle buddies to make sure everyone is tracking the new standards
