This weekend, our Waggin' Tales therapy dog friends will be visiting us on Saturday, October 24 from 11 a.m. - noon. Stop by the library any time during that hour to read them a story!

October 18-24 is National Friends of the Library Week!

Here at the Arlington Library, we love our Friends Group. They provide support for library programs, including the free books given out during our summer reading program. Thank you Friends for all of the work that you do for us.

If you are interested in joining our Friends of the Library Group, please stop by the library to fill-out the form. Volunteers with the friends help with books sales, volunteer at the library, and do other activities to help support us and our community.

Winter in the PNW can bring some gloomy weather to the area, but it also brings us all those weird and wonderful waterfowl! Join presenter Brian Zinke with Pilchuck Audubon Society on Friday, October 23rd at 4pm, to learn about birding in the PNW. You might be surprised to find how many species we get here and how accessible duck watching can be!

Thursday, October 15th the library will be participating in the worldwide Shake Out earthquake drill at 10:15am. Participation is optional if you are in the library, but please be patient with staff during this drill.

💙 Let's talk about KidSmart, also known as Meals til' Monday! 💙

Did you know that the Arlington Community Food Bank has a program that helps make sure children have access to nutritious foods over the weekend?

Our Meals til' Monday program provides children with a bag of food to take home from school each week, helping bridge the gap between Friday and Monday.

We know that weekends can be especially challenging for families facing food insecurity and we want to help make those days a little bit easier. 💙

Parents and guardians can sign their children up for Meals til' Monday by talking to the office at their children's school. They can also sign up directly through our website.
