Texas Trust Credit Union Gives Foundation, recently completed a multi-week food drive and volunteer initiative that provided nearly 50,000 meals to five regional food banks, including Mission Arlington/ Mission Metroplex. The foundation also raised $8,000 to support the food banks local hunger relief efforts: https://bit.ly/43QA4NC

In 1973, Arlington, a city on the rise with about 90,000 residents, unveiled its first official flag. The idea came from two Bailey Junior High students, Amy Scott and Laura Lively, whose vision flew high beside Mayor Tom Vandergriff at the ceremony. This morning, Arlington officially said goodbye to the Sheraton Arlington Hotel.

Loews Hotels held a “ground-shaking” event, marking the official start of construction on the new Americana by Loews Hotels - Arlington. Americana by Loews Hotels will be a 507-room property with more than 83,000 sq. ft. of total indoor and outdoor meeting and event space. North Texas Sports Foundation's Community Ticket Program Closes Soon 06/05/2026

What a wonderful way to say thank you to our local nonprofits and community-based organizations! The North Texas Sports Foundation, which is partnering with the North Texas FIFA World Cup Organizing Committee, is providing matching and official event tickets through its Community Ticket Giveback Program.

The North Texas Sports Foundation’s online application for tickets through the program is open through Sunday, June 7.

North Texas Sports Foundation's Community Ticket Program Closes Soon The foundation said the goal of the program is to expand equitable access to the FIFA World Cup 2026™ by providing tickets to youth, families, and community members who might otherwise never experience a global sporting event of this scale.

At the end of May, ArlingtonTx Fire held a push in ceremony for their new ARFF unit, approved by voters during the 2025 Bond Election. The new Oshkosh Striker 4x4 ARFF unit is specifically designed for Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting operations at Arlington Municipal Airport and surrounding areas. Built for rapid response and enhanced firefighter safety, ARFF 12 is equipped with advanced firefighting and visibility technology to handle complex airport emergencies.
