Neighbors, early voting for the City Council Runoff Election begins today! A thriving community depends on people showing up, participating, and helping shape the decisions that affect our neighborhoods, schools, and future.
Democracy works best when everyone has a seat at the table. Make a plan to vote, encourage others to do the same, and help build Arlington's future together.
Your voice matters. Your vote matters. Vote Dr. Jason Shelton for Arlington City Council District 8, At-Large. Dr. Shelton is a leader who will represent all!
Early Voting is June 1-9, and Election Day is June 13.

A pattern in Arlington's 2026 municipal election cycle is the significant increase in opposition messaging.
Voters have been receiving mailers, text messages, digital ads, and social media content from candidates, PACs, political parties, advocacy organizations, and outside groups across the political spectrum.
It is easy to react to a single message. It is harder, and more important, to understand it within the broader ecosystem of political messaging that is influencing this election.
Over the coming days, we will share and analyze one opposition piece each day. If you received a mailer, text, or advertisement you would like us to examine, drop it in the comments and we will add it to the lineup!
Political Messaging in Arlington, Part 1 — Dream City PAC
Arlington voters saw and are seeing a greater volume of negative mailers, digital advertisements, text messages, and social media content than many have come to expect in local elections. This is the first in a series analyzing messaging in Arlington’s 2026 municipal elections.

This is the most important work in front of the City of Arlington right now.
It is amazing to see community members and organizations out talking with our community about the District 8 runoff.

Arlington deserves campaigns that bring people together, not campaigns that try to divide us through fear.
We have already seen what happens when fear is used as a political strategy. This year’s mayoral election showed us a low point for our city, and we should not repeat it. Arlington’s future will not be built by stoking fear, turning neighbors against each other, or making people believe our city is something it is not.
Public safety matters. Families deserve to feel safe. Neighborhoods deserve investment, attention, and strong city services. But real leadership talks about safety with honesty, accountability, and solutions.
The facts matter: Arlington was ranked the No. 7 safest large city in the United States in SmartAsset’s 2025 study. The study compared the 50 largest U.S. cities using safety metrics including violent crime, property crime, traffic deaths, drug overdose deaths, and excessive drinking.
That does not mean our work is done. It means we should build on what is working while staying focused on the future. We need leadership that strengthens public services, invests in every neighborhood, and keeps Arlington moving forward.
At Dream City PAC, we believe the American Dream City is not just a slogan. It is something we build together through equity, representation, shared responsibility, and people-centered leadership.
Campaigns rooted in fear ask us to hold on to the past.
Campaigns rooted in community ask us to build the future.
Arlington deserves the future. And District 8 deserves leadership that reflects that.

Fort Worth and El Paso were the other two Texas cities on the list.

Congratulations to our friends who won last night, and thank you to those who did not, but still chose to step up and serve our community.
We are all tired. Some of us in Arlington have been voting since January. But our work is not done. Early voting for the Arlington municipal runoff begins Monday, and our community still needs us.
In partnership, Dream City PAC and Tarrant County Young Democrats will be block walking across Arlington to help get out the vote for Dr. Jason Shelton.
Sign up for one or more block walks and join us in this final push.

Congratulations to Michele Gooch for Mansfield ISD, Place 7 on being sworn in tonight to the Mansfield ISD Board of Trustees.
We are grateful for your commitment to serving students, families, educators, and the broader Mansfield ISD community.
Public education shapes the future of every city and every neighborhood it serves. That is why intentional, accountable leadership on our local school boards matters so deeply.
At Dream City PAC, we believe strong communities are built when leadership reflects the needs, values, and voices of the people. We look forward to seeing Michele continue the important work of ensuring every student has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.
