The ARFD had a great time at the Wolf Pup and Fox Hills Learning centers this last Wednesday for National Fire Prevention Week. The subject this year was lithium battery safety. It didn't take long for the discussions to turn towards Halloween, costumes and candy. "SPARKY" was busy getting hugs and answering lots of questions. The training ended with a tour of engine 9131. Thanks to Asst. Chief JC Collison, H/S Officer M. Schrieber, FF McRoberts, FF Pickering and FF Carr (SPARKY).

"RED FLAG WARNING" will be in effect from noon tomorrow until 8:00 PM. Gusty winds, low humidity and a large fuel load will make fires very difficult to extinguish. If they do start, they will run quickly with the winds. Please use extreme caution if you are doing anything outside. Be mindful of trailer chains and smoking materials. Dial 911 if you see smoke so our local fire departments can respond as quickly as possible. Stay safe folks.
