đźš© RED FLAG WARNING: HIGH FIRE DANGER đźš©
A Red Flag Warning is issued by the National Weather Service when weather conditions, such as strong winds, low humidity, and dry vegetation, create an increased risk of dangerous wildfire activity.
Why should you take it seriously? Under these conditions, even a small spark can quickly ignite a wildfire that spreads rapidly and threatens lives, homes, and communities.
🔥 When a Red Flag Warning is in effect, please take these precautions:
đźš« Avoid mowing or w**d eating. Lawn mowers and other equipment can create sparks when blades strike rocks or metal.
đźš« Secure trailer safety chains. Never allow chains or other metal objects to drag on the roadway. Sparks can ignite roadside vegetation.
đźš« Avoid outdoor burning. Do not burn debris, and never leave any fire unattended. Follow all burn restrictions.
đźš« Avoid using equipment that produces sparks. Postpone welding, grinding, and other activities that could ignite dry vegetation.
đźš« Never discard ci******es outdoors. Dispose of smoking materials properly.
âś… Be prepared. Have your emergency go-bag ready, know your evacuation routes, and stay informed through official emergency alerts.
Remember: A Red Flag Warning doesn’t mean a wildfire has started. It means conditions are favorable for fires to ignite and spread rapidly.
Your actions matter! Taking a few simple precautions can help prevent the next wildfire and protect our communities. We are doing our part and now we ask that you do yours and be prepared! Do you have a go bag ready?
