⚠️ Collins Rd is closed in the vicinity of #100 due to a fallen tree and downed power lines ⚠️

09/26/2026

We are seeing lots of trees and branches down throughout the area, along with numerous power outages. Our crews are actively working to clear what they can and respond to calls, in conjunction with RI Energy and the Hopkinton Police Department.

Please stay inside and avoid unnecessary travel. Downed trees and power lines can be extremely dangerous, and conditions may change quickly.

If you encounter a downed power line, stay far away and do not touch it or anything it may be in contact with.

We appreciate everyone’s patience as crews work to make the roads and community as safe as possible.

Please stay home, stay safe, and let the crews do their job.

At 7:08 this morning, the Ashaway Volunteer Fire Association, along with the Ashaway Ambulance Association was dispatched to a MVA, car into a tree. Upon arrival, the Chief reported heavy extrication was needed and requested Hope Valley - Wyoming Fire District Special Hazards 900. At this time, Lifestar was also requested. The Westerly Fire Department was assigned to the landing zone at Crandall’s Field. The patient was extricated and transferred to the Lifestar crew in about an hour . The Hopkinton Police Department is investigating.
Great work by all.
Thank you to all of our mutual aid departments.
