More than 150 LCPS juniors and seniors explored career opportunities and strengthened their workplace skills during the third annual LCPS Workforce Summit on Friday, Oct. 16, 2026, at the National Conference Center in Leesburg.

The event brought together 156 students and 178 business partners from across Northern Virginia for hands-on career readiness activities, including mock interviews, professional networking and employability skills labs.

The summit reinforced LCPS' commitment to connecting classroom learning with real-world experiences and preparing students for success in education, employment or enlistment after graduation. Through partnerships with local businesses and community organizations, students gained valuable experience, built confidence and explored potential career path.

For the first time, LCPS middle school students across the division will participate in a Future Ready Exploration experience on Thursday, Nov. 12!

During this two-hour lesson, students in grades 6 and 7, along with eighth graders who have not applied to the Academies of Loudoun, will explore their interests, discover potential careers and learn about LCPS programs and opportunities that can help them prepare for high school and beyond.

Eighth-grade students who have applied to the Academies of Loudoun will complete their admissions assessment during this time.

A big thank you to everyone who celebrated the 3rd Annual One LCPS Celebration Day last Thursday! Dr. Spence created the event to honor schools, their staff and students for everything they do for LCPS.
