Already planning this year’s Halloween costume? Getting a head start means more time to find or create the perfect costume and make sure it’s safe for your little ghoul or goblin, too!

When selecting a costume, make sure it is the right size to prevent trips and falls, and choose styles that don’t obstruct your child’s vision. Plan your costumes with visibility in mind so we can keep our little ghouls and goblins safe while they have fun!

Tomorrow is International Walk to School Day - a reminder that we share our streets and neighborhoods with our most vulnerable road users, kids! Take some time today to talk to the children in your life about being safe while walking to and from school. Whether your planning to take part in a Walk to School Day event tomorrow or not, remind them to look left, right, and left again before crossing the street. Always walk on sidewalks or paths, cross at street corners, and use traffic signals and crosswalks.

Parents and caregivers do not understand the dangers either. Being on train tracks is not only dangerous, but illegal. That means you should not use them for photo shoots, play areas, etc.

Trains are faster and quieter than you might think 🚆

This See Tracks? Think Train Week, we're calling on everyone to walk safely near train tracks!
More than 2,300 people are injured or killed annually in railroad crossing and trespass incidents in North America. The only safe place to cross tracks is at designated public crossings with a crossbuck, flashing red lights or a gate. Crossing anywhere else is illegal.

There’s one more level in our safety game: ride in the back seat until age 13. We don’t want to skip any levels and our young rider is no match for a vehicle’s frontal airbag. Staying in the back seat is an automatic win every ride.

These Buckle Bros finally pass the seat belt fit test. Sitting all the way back in the vehicle seat with their knees bent over the edge, feet flat on the floor, shoulder belt on the chest, lap belt on the hips, and holding steady the whole ride— that's 6-for-6, no cheat codes needed.
