🌱🚜 A dream years in the making! 🚜🌱

After years of dreaming about having a space large enough to host a field trip of this size, we finally made it happen at the Randolph County Agriculture Center! ❤️

We were thrilled to welcome Asheboro City Schools 4th graders for an exciting hands-on experience exploring the many different aspects of agriculture. From livestock and poultry to forestry, soil and water conservation, agricultural technology, nutrition, and so much more, students had the opportunity to learn just how much agriculture impacts their everyday lives.

Seeing this dream come to life in our new Agriculture Center was incredibly special. What was once an idea is now an opportunity to connect hundreds of students with agriculture, inspire curiosity, and help the next generation understand where their food comes from and the important role agriculture plays in our community. 🌾🐄🐓

A huge THANK YOU to all of the volunteers, community partners, agricultural professionals, educators, and students who helped make this event possible! It truly takes a village, and we are so grateful for everyone who helped bring this vision to life.

The Kiwanis Club of Asheboro 4-H classroom was full of laughter, determination and brainstorming. We had so much fun this morning at the first session of Plugged In: the ULTIMATE Circuit Building Experience. We experimented with batteries, cardboard, paper clips aluminum foil and light bulbs making our own circuits as well as with snap circuits some that can fly a paper plane and some that go along with bricks to create structures.

There are two more opportunities to join: THIS Friday, October 16 (a teacher workday for Randolph County Schools) OR Monday, October 19 (a teacher workday for Asheboro City Schools)

What We’re Looking For:
Theme: "4-H Winter Wonderland" — think snowy landscapes, cozy green clovers, farm animals in scarves, act-of-kindness moments, or winter farm scenes.
Format: Flat 2D art (markers, paint, colored pencils, or digital art) sized to 5" x 7" so it scans crisply.
Must-Have: Be sure to include the 4-H Clover in your design!
Prizes & Recognition:
Ribbons will be awarded in each age division, and the overall winning artwork will be featured as our official winter card cover!
Deadline to Submit: October 7, 2026 by 5:00PM

It's NATIONAL 4-H WEEK!

Some of our 4-H'ers joined us at the Randolph County Commissioners Meeting Monday night where the Commissioners officially declared October 4-10, 2026 as 4-H Week here in Randolph County.

These 4-H'ers and community partners shared what makes 4-H so special for them, which ranged from the AIRE contest to livestock judging and showmanship to our summer agriventures and 4-H clubs to school enrichment and library programs.

Randolph County might already be green, but I think we can keep going. These funds will support our 4-H'ers in the coming year!

We’re turning North Carolina green, county by county. 💚

So far, supporters have helped us reach:
🍀 67 of 100 counties
💚 156 gifts
🎁 $2,780 raised for the 4-H Priorities Fund

Each gift brings us closer to our $4 for 4-H goal of receiving at least one gift connected to every North Carolina county and helps support opportunities for young people through NC 4-H.

This contest is open to youth ages 8–18 from across North Carolina!

• 8–10
• 11–13
• 14–18

Age divisions are based on the participant's age as of January 1, 2026.
