The GAL program recruits, trains & supports volunteers in their role as advocates for children.

Guardian ad Litem equips community volunteers to serve abused and neglected children in court by advocating for their best interests in court.

Jack is back! Read to a dog is coming back in November, after the election. Sign up now for your slot! He will be here with his handler, Barb, on November 13 and 20 from 4:00 to 5:30pm.

Jack is a therapy dog - he helps kids feel safe in the library and gain more confidence while they learn to read! This program is best for ages 5 to 10. Each child will receive a 15 minute time slot of one-on-one time with Jack. We hope to see you there!

Consider becoming a Guardian ad Litem (GAL). GALs are trained volunteers who act as court advocates for children in foster care.

Buncombe County currently has 52 children without a GAL.
