Asheville is no stranger to activism. Today we want to highlight an early example of WNC's altruistic spirit: the 1995 Red Ribbon Walk.

This event was an inspiring day when the community came together to raise awareness of HIV/AIDS. To those of you who've been with us for the 35 exciting, change-filled years, thank you so much!

Loving Food Resources is no stranger to festive fall fun, and with Halloween coming up, we wanted to highlight memories from LFR's early Halloween get-togethers.

Don't forget to visit our website for volunteer and donation opportunities this spooky season!

Loving Food Resources owes much of its success to our generous sponsors. Over the years, these amazing partners have helped us grow and help many people in Asheville and beyond.

We want to give a special shout-out to O.Henry's and the Community Foundation of Western North Carolina for their donation towards the Loving Food Resources truck, which is an essential part of our mission.

Over the years, the Affair in Red/White brought people together in support of Loving Food Resources and our mission to provide food assistance to individuals living with HIV/AIDS and patients receiving hospice care.

As we celebrate 35 years of serving our community, we're looking back at the events, memories, and people who have helped make our work possible, and the Affair in Red/White is an important part of that history. Thank you to everyone who has participated!

Volunteers are very important to our service to the community! On Saturday, students from UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy spent the afternoon with us and their efforts were quickly noticed by our dedicated Tuesday team. Thank you!

If you or your group would like to volunteer, please check out our website. There are many opportunities!

Loving Food Resources helps to provide nutritional essentials to some of WNC's most vulnerable populations. One way of doing this is through our boxes containing household staples, meat, and fresh vegetables, delivered to people who cannot come to shop on Saturday mornings.

If you want to help LFR continue to provide these essentials to the community, visit our website today and donate to this mission 35 years in the making!

As we remember the early days of Loving Food Resources, there is one man who stands out among the rest, Art Fryar.

Art Fryar tragically passed away in 2006, but he will be remembered as a hero of Asheville's fledgling LGBTQ+ community. His selfless contributions continued to have a positive effect on the community, LFR included, well after his passing through memorial dinners and benefits at the long-running Scandals nightclub.

Today we want to focus on the memory of the late, great Kat Williams. Her passing late last year saddened the community deeply, but her memory lives on.

Kat was an amazing early supporter of Loving Food Resources, and her benefit concerts helped to grow the organization into what it is today.
