Uganda Vision Trip Recap - Day 7 🇺🇬
Our Devos this morning focused on God contending for us - Psalm 35:23. Prayer is the way we let go and let God. It is the difference you fighting for God and God fighting for you.
Today was like every other day. We began with an agenda, but it always changes and His plans are always better and always an adventure!
We started at St. Martha school where 30 sponsored AH children attend. It took longer than expected which means we were running behind for our next home visit.
We were greeted warmly as the Mom to Aloysious sponsor was given the full home tour and introduction to the family. As we were preparing to leave and saying our goodbyes, the question was asked, “Is Aloysious Mom a believer?” It became clear that she was not. Just at this time, a man in orange walked up from a neighboring home. He began asking questions that seemed a bit defensive at first. Lord Contend for us. He softened as the simple story of hope in Jesus was shared through the salvation bracelet and the invitation of Jesus was given - He said yes. And not just him, but several others came and kneeled in a circle on that red dirt ground as we prayed and celebrated our new brothers and sisters in Christ! 🙌🏼 Had we not been delayed, we could have missed our new friend in orange, Emmanuel. The Lords schedule is always best.
Next we were off to the Home Cell Fellowship which meets by the well. This place and these friends have such a testimony of Gods faithfulness! From a sponsorship of twins, to a newly dug well whose first drops of water happened simultaneously with a man close to death giving his life to Jesus and being healed, resulting in the first Home Cell group forming in his place and meeting weekly under the mango tree. We sat under this tree, listening to them share this testimony, praising Jesus, and sharing a skit about putting on LOVE.
As we were leaving, a woman jumped in our van for a ride to the main road. We realized it was the mom to a young girl named Eve who was still waiting for a sponsor. Right after dropping her off, one of the ladies on our team felt led to sponsor her so we quick turned around to share the news!
