๐ŸŒฟThe Umma at North Mountain Park Is Getting Restored!

An inter-tribal crew from Lomakatsi Restoration Project will be at North Mountain Park tomorrow, October 7, Thursday, October 8, and possibly part of Friday, October 9, rebuilding the beloved traditional structure in the park.

Working through the Inter-Tribal Ecosystem Restoration Partnership, Lomakatsi's workforce training programs bring together tribal young adults who gain hands-on experience in ecological restoration, forestry, and cultural stewardship while helping preserve traditional knowledge and connections to the land.

Weโ€™re hopeful the Umma will be complete just in time for Return of the Salmon: Family Field Day on Saturday, October 10, so families can enjoy this special space.

Weโ€™re excited to be part of this partnership and look forward to seeing the crew out in the park! If youโ€™re visiting North Mountain Park this week, keep an eye out for their work. ๐ŸŒฟ

๐Ÿšง East Main Park Improvements Are Underway! ๐ŸŒณ

The City of Ashland has selected Outlier Construction Company to complete the long-awaited improvements at East Main Park. Construction for Phase 1 began October 5 and is expected to continue into spring 2027.

During construction, the community can expect:
โ€ข Typical construction noise
โ€ข Some dust
โ€ข Increased construction traffic in the area
โ€ข Temporary impacts to access around the park

If you live near East Main Park, you may notice these impacts more directly, but we wanted to keep the entire community informed as this exciting project gets underway.

Please use caution around the active construction zone and give our contractor the space they need to safely and efficiently complete the work.

Thank you for your patience as we work to make these long-awaited improvements to East Main Park! ๐Ÿ’š
