🚒 TRAINING NIGHT AT ATALISSA FIRE DEPARTMENT 🚒

Tonight our members got some hands-on experience with a demo of battery-powered TNT extrication tools. We put the tools to work and cut up an SUV to see what they can do in a real-world extrication situation.

🇺🇸 WE WILL NEVER FORGET 🇺🇸

Today, the members of the Atalissa Fire Department pause to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001.

We remember the innocent victims, the families whose lives were forever changed, and the brave first responders who answered the call without hesitation. Firefighters, police officers, EMS personnel, and everyday heroes ran toward danger while others were seeking safety.

Their courage, sacrifice, and selflessness will never be forgotten.

As firefighters, we carry the memory of our fallen brothers and sisters with us. Today, we honor the heroes of 9/11 and all those who continue to serve their communities.

Take a moment today to remember. To honor. To thank those who serve.

🇺🇸 Never Forget.

This evening, before moving indoors for our CPR and first aid training, Atalissa Fire Department spent time training on our newly purchased rescue/pumper truck. This unit was recently purchased through the Columbus Junction Fire Department and replaces our old red engine, which simply wasn’t well-suited to serve as a rescue unit.

This new truck gives our department a much greater rescue capability. It is equipped with an onboard SCBA air-filling system and carries our vehicle extrication equipment, airbags, grain bin rescue equipment, foam induction system, numerous ropes and pulley systems, and many other specialized rescue tools.

Training on this equipment is extremely important. Our members need to be comfortable with the equipment and understand the proper procedures, especially when it comes to safely filling high-pressure SCBA cylinders.

We want to sincerely thank our community for the continued support, donations that have helped make it possible for Atalissa Fire Department to obtain this rescue unit. We are proud to put it to work serving our community!

P.S. — The door decal is temporary! 😝
