ALF Food Pantry (aka Atascadero Loaves & Fishes) is a non-profit, all-volunteer food pantry located at 5411 El Camino Real in Atascadero, CA. We provide groceries to those who live in our service area (Atascadero, Templeton, Creston, Santa Margarita, & California Valley). We welcome community support from those who would like to volunteer or make donations.

Our walk-in fridge, fully stocked and ready for the day.

That same fridge just hours later, after our community members came through our doors.
Behind these empty shelves are dozens of local families who now have fresh milk for their kids’ cereal and wholesome eggs to start their mornings right. Nutritious essentials like dairy and protein are vital, but they’re also some of the hardest items for families facing food insecurity to afford right now.
We are so grateful for our donors and partners who make it possible to keep our shelves full, and we are equally committed to restocking them as fast as we can for tomorrow.

With your generous donations, you make it possible to help the food insecure in our areas of Templeton, Creston, California Valley, Atascadero and Santa Margarita. We work always to supply a nutritious menu of foods we distribute to all who use our service with no cost.
However, this is becoming more needed than ever. The numbers of those with food insecurity is increasing.

Huge thanks to the Central Coast Molochs MC for coming through with their food drive last Saturday! 🏍️🥫
Thanks to their dedication, time, and the generosity of everyone who stopped by to donate, we’re able to restock our shelves and keep local families fed. It’s community partners like this that make the Central Coast such a strong, supportive place to live.

🍂 Fill the Shelf October: Canned Vegetables 🍂
With grocery prices continuing to hover near record highs, ALF Food Pantry is currently serving a record-high number of families in our community. For many of our neighbors, stretching a weekly food budget has become an uphill battle.
This October, we’re asking for your help to stock our shelves with canned vegetables—corn, green beans, peas, diced tomatoes, and carrots. They are essential, shelf-stable staples that ensure every family has access to healthy, nourishing meals.
How to help this month:
🛒 Pick up a few extra cans during your grocery run and drop them off at the pantry.

Volunteers are the heart of ALF Food Pantry, and we loved getting the chance to celebrate them at our recent Volunteer BBQ! ☀️
We had a wonderful time honoring the incredible people who keep ALF Food Pantry running every single day. Guests heard from our Board President, Tim Eckles, Atascadero Mayor Charles Bourbeau, and City Council Member Susan Funk.
We owe a massive shoutout to the Kiwanis Club, who cooked up a delicious feast for our team. To make the event even more special, outgoing Kiwanis President Steve Wrightson surprised us with a phenomenal $20,000 check! ✨
We are deeply moved by this gift and incredibly thankful for the unwavering support of the Kiwanis Club and our hardworking volunteers who make it all possible.

Grateful is an understatement! We are celebrating a transformational $80,000 contribution from Rotary and Rotary International to fund the walk-in coolers at our new location. Thank you to all the Rotarians supporting food security right here in Atascadero! 💙

⏰ Reminder: Only 3 days until the end of our “Ride for a Cause” food drive!
Join us this Saturday at our new location for quick drive-up food drop-offs. The Moloch Motorcycle Club will be hanging out with their bikes from 11 AM – 4 PM and serving up complimentary hamburgers and hot dogs off the grill! 🏍️🍔
