As of this posting, we do not have any conclusive answers other than to say that we have not had any reports of damage or injuries reported from this event.

UPDATE: As of the time of this post, AFD does not have any answers as to what may have caused the “boom” that so many of us (including AFD first responders) heard and felt this morning. We will say however, that the comments and questions shared in replies to our posts have not disappointed! Thanks to all for following the Atascocita Fire Department and for staying engaged!

Update: AFD was NOT conducting training today which would have, in any way, resulted in what sounded and felt like an explosion.

AFD is aware of multiple calls regarding what sounded and felt like an explosion. AFD did an extensive drive-through of the area, but no indications were found of whatever it was that may have caused an explosion.
