Happy Texas Wildflower Day! Did you know there are over 2,700 wildflowers native to Texas? Comment with your favorite Texas wildflower below!
In the late 1970s, NPSOT founder Carroll Abbott —known as “Mr. Bluebonnet”—along with Texas Woman’s University President Mary Evelyn Blagg Huey, successfully lobbied Texas legislators to designate the fourth Saturday in April as Texas Wildflower Day.
