We had a male Ruby Throated Hummingbird that was getting his fill of nectar at the salvia buffet! He came back repeatedly throughout the day. I highly recommend salvia for your pollinator garden - hummingbirds and bees love it!

In the late 1970s, NPSOT founder Carroll Abbott —known as “Mr. Bluebonnet”—along with Texas Woman’s University President Mary Evelyn Blagg Huey, successfully lobbied Texas legislators to designate the fourth Saturday in April as Texas Wildflower Day.
