September is Workforce Development Month, a time to recognize the people, partnerships, and programs that help build a stronger workforce and stronger communities.

In a community like McMinn County, where manufacturing plays a vital role in our economy, workforce development is more important than ever. The skills employers need are constantly evolving, and emerging technologies like AI are changing the way we work across many industries.

At McMinn EDA, workforce development is a year-round priority. We stay engaged in workforce conversations, track labor market trends, and work alongside industry, education, and community partners to help address workforce needs and strengthen our talent pipeline.

Through initiatives that support employers, gather workforce insights, and introduce students to career opportunities, we are working to help ensure McMinn County is prepared for the workforce of today and tomorrow.

Workforce development is not a one-time effort. It is an ongoing investment in our businesses, our students, and our community's future. We are proud to be part of that work and grateful for the partners who help make it possible.

This is what progress looks like. 🪏

Active site development is now underway at North Etowah Industrial Park as crews work to create a shovel-ready industrial pad. After years of planning and preparation, this investment represents a major step forward for a site that is already Select Tennessee Certified and one of only two CSX Select Sites in Tennessee.
