A gentle conversation about your wishes can spare your family from making every decision during a hard time.

Did you know we offer free consultation and "wish files" to help you document these things for safekeeping?

From the broadest to the tiniest of details: family information, burial or cremation, who you might want as pallbearers or speakers, favorite hymns or music, and a variety of other special requests... each one answered a burden lifted.

There is no need to settle everything at once: even a short conversation and a simple written note can give your family a clearer place to start.

When someone is grieving, many people want to help but do not know what to say. There is no perfect sentence. Simple, steady kindness usually means the most.

Take a meal. Offer one specific errand, such as picking up groceries or cleaning up the leaves. Sit quietly if that is what your neighbor needs. Say their loved one’s name when it feels natural.

A message that says, “I am thinking about you today,” can mean a great deal. Keep checking in after the first few weeks, when the calls often grow quieter. Grief does not follow a schedule.
