Whitesburg Police Department, GA

HELP NEEDED:
On 05/15/2026, an unidentified deceased male was recovered from the Dog River Reservoir located along Highway 166 in Douglasville.
Investigators are seeking assistance from the public in identifying the individual. Included are renderings and photographs of the male’s tattoos. Anyone who recognizes the tattoos or has information regarding the male’s identity is asked to contact:

All information received will be handled appropriately as investigators work to identify the deceased and notify the next of kin.

On 05/19/2026 a report was filed with the Coweta County Sheriff's Office regarding a missing person.
The reporting party stated that Malik Polk (01/25/2001) was last heard from on 05/17/2026. Malik's
phone had since been turned off and the family had been unable to contact him. Malik's vehicle was
last seen driving in the area of Whitesburg in Carroll County before later being abandoned and
recovered by law enforcement in the area. If you have any information regarding Malik Polk and his

As summer approaches and vacation season begins, we want to remind everyone of a simple way to help keep your home safe while you’re away.
Did you know you can contact City Hall or the Police Department and request extra patrols during your time out of town? We are happy to assist.

Also, for your safety, avoid posting countdowns or travel plans on social media. It’s best to wait until you return home to share vacation photos.
