The other day, I received a call from a woman who was looking for the resting place of her baby she lost more than 60 years ago. The baby passed within a few days of childbirth; the mother, still hospitalized, was unable to attend his funeral. All she knew was that he was buried at a Baptist church near Red Oak. She wanted to place a marker at the gravesite; boy was she surprised and relieved to find one already stands there. She texted me saying, "The cemetery is beautiful, and I was able to get closure knowing where he is. Thank you so much for your help." Stories like this reaffirm to me that we are doing the right thing here. Thank you all for your support of our work!

We have a large dead oak tree in the middle of the cemetery that must come down before it damages the graves. Large limbs have been falling on gravesites already, and we don't have the money to remove it. Please help us take care of this before serious damage occurs. Thank you!!

Friends, we have installed a fence and gate at a cost of nearly $50,000 so the cemetery will be secure from those who have no business there. Today, when I got to the cemetery, the gate was open. The person there last had pulled the gate open towards the road which kept the latch from latching when the gate was closed (without re-entering the code). Please make sure you push the gate inward. We will be installing a post to be able to secure the gate open while you drive in in the near future. And when you leave, please be sure to pull the gate closed and make sure the lock latches into the gate-post correctly.
