TO: FAMILIES AND FRIENDS WHO HAVE LOVED ONES BURIED AT WELCOME ALL ROAD CEMETERY

FROM: WELCOME ALL ROAD CEMETERY PRESERVATION ASSOCIATION, INC.

SUBJECT: MARKER TO HONOR THOSE BURIED IN UNMARKED GRAVES

Welcome All Road Cemetery is a non-perpetual care cemetery, and we lack an endowment fund for ongoing maintenance. We depend on ongoing donations and charitable gifts to keep our cemetery looking its best.

We were blessed to receive a private family donation of $75,000 at a time when the cemetery was abandoned and at its worst. We used $65,000 of this gift (combined with other donations and grants) for the following improvements.

• Removed dead trees from the cemetery ($13,900)
• Removed items that had been dumped in the cemetery
• Had the cemetery surveyed ($1,800)
• Had a gate and fence installed around 3 sides of the property ($47,500)
• Had overturned monuments restored and uprighted ($5,634)
• Had the cemetery mapped with ground-penetrating radar ($3,855)

Of the aforementioned $75,000 donation, only $10,000 remains and is invested in a Certificate of Deposit at a local credit union.

We also raise funds annually to have the grass cut 10 times a year at $300 per cut, for a total expense of $3,000 each year. To our family and friends who have donated - THANK YOU!

With that said, we want to raise an additional $2,000 to purchase a marker to honor the memories of those resting at Welcome All Road Cemetery in unmarked graves (31 of which were located with the ground-penetrating radar). A beautiful bronze marker mounted on a steep granite slab will cost $3,800, including installation. We have already raised $1,800, but still need the final $2,000 to purchase and install the marker.

Help Us Identify Those Resting in Unmarked Graves at Welcome All Road Cemetery

Welcome All Road Cemetery Preservation Association is working to preserve the history and honor the memory of all those buried within our cemetery grounds. As part of this effort, we are seeking information about individuals who may be buried in unmarked graves.

We invite family members, descendants, friends, former community residents, and anyone with knowledge of past burials to share information that may help identify those laid to rest here.

We are especially interested in: • Names of individuals believed to be buried at the cemetery • Approximate dates of burial • Family connections and genealogical information • Funeral programs, obituaries, photographs, or church records • Personal recollections and family stories

Every piece of information, no matter how small, may help us preserve the history of this sacred place and ensure that those buried here are remembered for generations to come.
