Atlanta seniors are invited to Civic Participation for Seniors.

Presented by the City of Atlanta Department of City Planning’s NPU University in partnership with the Mayor’s Office of Constituent Services, this interactive event will help Atlanta seniors stay informed, build meaningful relationships, and explore practical ways to make a difference in their communities.

🔎 Want to better understand who handles code violations—and what happens after you submit a report? There is still time to apply for NPU University’s 2026 Code Enforcement Academy.

This free, five-session virtual program connects participants with the City departments responsible for addressing blight, property maintenance, illegal dumping, zoning and permitting concerns, water-related issues, and code-enforcement cases.

Classes begin Thursday, September 10, 2026, and meet every other Thursday from 6:00–8:00 p.m. on Zoom.

🏘️ Applications for the 2026 Code Enforcement Academy are now open!

Hosted by NPU University, this free five-session virtual academy helps City of Atlanta residents and employees understand how code enforcement works—and how to identify, report, and track issues that affect cleaner, safer, and more thriving neighborhoods.

Participants will hear directly from City departments involved in code enforcement and learn about premise violations, substandard structures, illegal dumping, ATL 311, permits and zoning, court processes, and community partnerships.

⏳Last Call - Applications for Civic Responsibility for Young Leaders (CRFYL) are closing soon.

Offered by the City of Atlanta’s Department of City Planning through NPU University, this one-week experience equips rising Atlanta Public School juniors and seniors with the skills to lead, engage, and make a difference in their communities.

Students will shadow City leaders, engage in civic dialogue, participate in a mock council meeting, and earn 35 community service hours and a $525 stipend.
