October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. 💕

Atlanta Fire Rescue is proud to stand in solidarity with survivors, families, and fighters everywhere. Together, we raise awareness, inspire hope, and fight for a cure.

Courage is only confirmed in the face of adversity. Today, Firefighter Welch of Company 16 B shift had his first experience pulling an attack line into a house fire. Moments of bravery and service like this are ones we never forget in the fire service.

Excellence doesn’t happen by accident — it’s built through dedication, training, and the drive to be ready when it matters most.

Last month, AFRD crews were pushing their limits during hazardous materials (haz-mat) training, sharpening their skills in containment, decontamination, and emergency response.

These high-intensity drills ensure our firefighters are prepared to face the most dangerous situations — all to keep our community safe. Every second counts.

AFRD was proud to stand with Mayor Andre Dickens, city leaders, and neighbors at the Cascade Road Community Celebration!

The reopening brought businesses, families, and the Cascade Corridor together, highlighting the true strength of our community.

We’re always honored to be part of milestones that move Atlanta forward.

Atlanta Fire Rescue units responded to a working apartment fire in southwest Atlanta this morning. Lives and property were saved by utilizing an offensive attack strategy, coordinating vertical ventilation, hand line placement, and evacuation. Outstanding effort at saving all residents, treating those who self extricated, and keeping the fire contained.
