Become a Dementia Friend
Tuesday, February 22nd

Join others during this one-hour virtual information session to learn what dementia is, what it’s like to live with the disease, and some tips for communicating with people who have dementia.
Dementia Friends is a global movement that is changing the way people think, act, and talk about dementia. By helping everyone in a community understand what dementia is and how it affects families, each of us can make a difference for people touched by dementia.

Commissioner Larry Johnson in partnership with the National Association of Counties and the National Council on Mental Wellbeing is piloting the National Council’s Mental Health First Aid training with DeKalb County.
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) USA is a public education program that introduces participants to risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems, builds understanding of their impact and overviews appropriate supports.

All registration and repair fees for manual wheelchairs, power wheelchairs, scooters, walkers, rollators and more are waived for veterans. Batteries provided as available.
This service is provided by FODAC, friends of disabled adults & children.
