The Gottman Sound Relationship House provides a framework for building a strong foundation, focusing on trust, communication, and emotional connection. Just like a house needs a solid base, your relationship thrives on these key principles. Learn each stage here: https://bit.ly/4ijBhD4

Our limbic system of our brain-- where our feelings and stress response are triggered-- asks this key question: "Am I loved?"-

Through proximity and co-regulation the brain calms. When it has found it village or safe person it begins to relax and can take in new information or solve the problem. It makes a lot of sense-- protection and comfort typically comes from the people we LOVE not strangers.

Once the brain is soothed and the child is in a state of rest and connection it can then engage the upper floor of the brain, the pre-frontal cortex to examine the issue or come up with a solution (or accept possible solutions from an adult).
