We had an awesome time hosting participants from the Atlanta Police Department’s Citizen's Police Academy at the Atlanta E-911 Communications Center!

This group was engaged, enthusiastic, and eager to learn more about the critical role our dispatchers and call-takers play every day in serving our community.

One of the highlights of the evening was giving participants the opportunity to listen to live calls and experience firsthand the fast-paced environment our team works around the clock.

We truly enjoyed sharing a look at emergency communications and appreciate the group’s interest and support.

This Memorial Day, as we gather with family and friends, we remember and honor the fallen.

Today, we take time to reflect and give thanks for the freedoms we enjoy because of their courage, selflessness, and unwavering dedication.

We remain grateful for the price they paid for our nation.

“When I heard a baby crying uncontrollably, I didn’t just hear noise — I heard a mom who needed help.”

While working an off-duty extra job, Atlanta Police Officer T. Lewis— who is also a mother herself — noticed a woman struggling with boxes in the rain while trying to comfort her 4-month-old baby boy. After stepping in to help carry the boxes so the mother could hold and calm her baby, the officer learned the woman’s ride was no longer answering the phone.

With heavy rain continuing to pour, the officer ordered the mother an Uber XL so she could safely load the baby’s car seat and stroller. When the ride arrived, the officer helped load the boxes and stroller into the vehicle before sending the family on their way safely.

Sometimes policing is about more than responding to emergencies — it’s about showing compassion during life’s stressful moments. The smallest acts of kindness can make the biggest difference. 💙
