Our friend, John P. Bowers III, former Morehouse Student Body President, has made history as the first Black man elected to the Rowlett City Council at just 26 years old!
This is a massive victory for young people across the state of Texas and Morehouse alum everywhere! John is an inspiration and excellent example of what happens when we invest in our youth👏🏾
Congratulations, John! .bow20

From ages of 3 and up, members of YDATL showed up and showed out at the 404 Day Parade!
We marched with Mayor Andre Dickens, and we thank Congresswoman Nikema Williams for always standing with the next generation.
Atlanta’s culture is rich, bold, and deeply rooted —we’re proud to carry that legacy forward.

Georgia’s young people deserve leaders who fight for us—not ones who cave to corporate interests. This tort reform bill makes it harder for us to seek justice when we’re harmed, and we won’t forget who stood with us and who sold us out. Our generation is watching.

Today, we honor the women who paved the way, uplift those leading the fight now, and inspire the next generation to break barriers!
Happy International Women’s Day! 🌸

The Young Democrats of Atlanta (YDATL) are heartbroken by the devastating attack that occurred on Bourbon Street in New Orleans on New Year’s Eve. This senseless act of violence has taken the lives of at least 15 individuals and injured many more, leaving families and communities across the nation in mourning.
Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with the victims, their loved ones, and everyone impacted by this horrific tragedy. Among those injured is a University of Georgia student, and we stand in solidarity with the UGA community during this difficult time.
As we grieve, we must also reflect on the importance of ensuring the safety and security of public spaces. We call on leaders and institutions at every level to prioritize efforts to prevent such acts of terror and protect the well-being of all people, no matter where they gather.
YDATL reaffirms our commitment to fostering a society where peace, safety, and unity prevail over fear and violence. Let us come together to support those affected and work toward a future free from such tragedies.
