About Last Night! Thank you! Thank you!Thank you to all my family & friends that showed up & showed out even in the rain! It was an amazing turnout for the Pink Out 2019 Breast Cancer Awareness Celebration. Your donated clothing items & financial gifts are so greatly appreciated. I can’t wait to begin delivering the items to the chemo patients so I can see the smiles on their faces!

Special shout out to our 2019 Breast Cancer Warrior Honoree...Janice Yvonne Alston. We thank her for sharing her amazing journey on how she is living, surviving & thriving with Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer.

A huge thank you to Jay, Wilbur & Alan...the owners of Smoketacular for co-sponsoring the Pink Out Party again this year! You guys are simply awesome in every way!

And last but not least.....a warm shout out to DJ XTC! He did it again this year by rocking the house with our favorite old school jams that brought back sooooo many great memories. I just love this guy❤️

Today begins Breast Cancer Awareness Month. In 2019 over 268,000 new cases of breast cancer will be diagnosed in the US. By years end, approx. 42,250 deaths will have occurred from breast cancer. Please help join in the fight against this dreadful disease.

Remember to schedule your annual mammogram. Early detection is the key to saving lives!

Every Wed in Oct. I feature Portraits of Survivors. Today we honor Lillian Franklin Jackson, another one of my lovely Columbus hometown friends. Lillian is right in the midst of her breast cancer journey. She was diagnosed this July with Stage 3 Malignant Neoplasm of the right breast. Due to the size of the tumor, her treatment involves 20 rounds of chemo with Nov 1st being her last & then she will be scheduled for a double mastectomy. Her Oncologist has given her a 50/50 survival rate. Lillian's journey hasn't been easy & her life has drastically changed. Some days she feels like giving up BUT then she is reminded of those that have fought & won their battles. Lillian says she is "In It To Win It & Early Detection is Key!" I am so proud of my Pink Sister who has put on her boxing gloves & will kick cancer's butt!
