Historic Oakland Cemetery Founded in 1850, Oakland Cemetery is one of Atlanta's largest public parks and a unique oasis of history, gardens, and green space.

Oakland Cemetery is one of Atlanta's largest public parks and a unique oasis of history, sculpture, botanical gardens and wildlife. Located less than a mile from the heart of downtown Atlanta, historic Oakland is the final resting place for many of Atlanta's pioneers, icons and leaders. Today, Oakland Cemetery is still used as a community park and is a valued green space in Atlanta. It is also a repository for stunning art and architecture. Elaborate mausoleums, soaring sculptures and effusive inscriptions speak of an age when the bereaved found consolation in extravagant expression.

💭 October 12-16: DIY Dreamers Fall Break Camp - only 6 spots are left!

Kick off spooky season with our FIRST-EVER movie night in partnership with Atlanta Film Festival 🎥🎃 Join us for a pumpkin patch-themed Finally, Friday starting at 5PM to grab your pumpkins and get some tasty food from local food trucks.

Then get cozy on the lawn outside the Oakland Visitor Center to enjoy an outdoor screening of Tim Burton’s family-friendly classic, Frankenweenie! 🧺 Blankets & lawn chairs are recommended.
