🍉 July is National Wheelchair Beautification Month, and we just celebrated with another fun-filled "Watermelon & Wash My Wheels" event. Residents, team members, family, and friends joined forces to get those wheels gleaming. 💦 From scrubbing down walkers and wheelchairs to tossing beach balls and enjoying sweet watermelon, it was a day full of smiles and sunshine.
👏 A heartfelt thank you to Capstone Hospice for generously providing the delicious, ice-cold watermelon. 🍉 Their support made the day even sweeter.

Mimi’s Spanish Class: Learning with Joy and Culture!

At Orchard, learning goes beyond the classroom—it’s about connection, culture, and fun! Thanks to Mimi, the wonderful daughter of our residents, Mr. and Mrs. Andrews, we’ve had the pleasure of exploring the Spanish language in an exciting and immersive way.
Mimi volunteers her time to teach our residents Spanish, but the lessons don’t stop at vocabulary and phrases. She brings the beauty of Spanish-speaking cultures to life with festive activities like making traditional paper fans and, of course, enjoying refreshing margaritas! It’s a hands-on experience that engages all the senses, making each class a delight.
Laughter fills the room as we practice new words, celebrate traditions, and embrace the joy of learning together. We are grateful for Mimi’s generosity and passion, and we can’t wait for the next class!

Our amazing Champions crossed the finish line of National CNA Week with strength, heart, and unstoppable dedication. Every shift, every smile, every act of care brought us closer together as a team worth celebrating. As part of National Certified Nursing Assistants Week, we wrapped up Friday with a refreshing and delicious theme—Fresh Fruit Friday! Our incredible caregivers work tirelessly, and this was a perfect way to celebrate their dedication with something nutritious and uplifting.
Greg from Kadan Homecare truly went bananas, treating our Champions to an abundance of fresh fruit to enjoy. From juicy berries to crisp apples, this gesture was a sweet reminder of how much we appreciate their hard work and commitment.

Our incredible Care Partners and Med Techs were honored with medals, recognizing their tireless commitment to our residents. With sweatbands on and trophies in hand, they proudly posed for pictures, embodying the strength, heart, and resilience that make them the heroes of our community.

Honoring Our Heroes at the GSLA Annual Gala!

This year’s Georgia Senior Living Association Annual Gala was a spectacular evening dedicated to recognizing the exceptional individuals who make senior living communities across Georgia so special. It was a night filled with inspiration, gratitude, and well-deserved recognition for the compassionate professionals who go above and beyond every day.

Among the nominees were outstanding team members from our Athens and Brookhaven communities, including Carla Carciofi, Housekeeper, and Selene Godinez, Community Hospitality Manager. Their dedication, kindness, and unwavering commitment to creating a warm and welcoming environment were celebrated in a truly meaningful way.
