Lookin' ahead to summer weather! Many of our parks have sandy beaches for your family to cool off and have fun. Tugaloo has a pretty beach on Lake Hartwell, and Don Carter State Park has a spacious beach on Lake Lanier with a large picnic shelter and grills. If you're looking for something a little more low-key, check out the beaches at Fort Mountain, Hard Labor Creek, Kolomoki Mounds, Reed Bingham and Seminole. Most of these have picnic shelters for rent where you can enjoy a nice afternoon in the shade. Visit the Activities Page on GaStateParks.org for more summertime fun ideas.

Keep the kiddos busy and learning this summer with our Junior Ranger camps. Some are a week long, while some are just one day. They'll even go home with their own site-specific Junior Ranger badge! James H "Sloppy" Floyd's is coming up on June 10. Chattahoochee Bend's camp still has a few open spots on June 26 and 27. And you'll find dozens more on the events page of our website:

Do you have what it takes to “Take Home the Cup”?
The 2026 Georgia State Parks Golf Cup Tournament is underway. There’s still time to earn bragging rights AND win a trip to the championship event. The next two qualifying events are May 30 at Brazells Creek (Jack Hill State Park) and June 6 at Arrowhead Pointe (Richard B Russell State Park).
This year we've implemented a 2-division system to give more teams a chance to win their way into a free golf trip to compete for the championship. The championship tournament this year will be held at The Lakes @ Laura S. Walker State Park on July 11.
