The FDHA focuses on promoting the general health of the community and advocating for the indigent.

As Owners of the Grady Health System, the FDHA (the "Authority") works to eliminate health disparities in the metro Atlanta by serving as a resource for individuals and families seeking information and access to quality health services in Fulton and DeKalb counties. We also work by assisting metro Atlanta public health professionals in overcoming barriers that may prevent them from providing needed care.

See the Person. Support the Journey.

is part of everyday life. It shapes how we think, feel, connect with others, and move through the world.

This year’s national theme highlights the importance of:

🔹Noticing early signs of mental health concerns
🔹Strengthening the support around us
🔹Responding with care and compassion during challenging moments

Mental health touches every part of life — from housing and work to relationships and community. When mental health challenges arise, they often intersect with substance use, and whole person care that addresses both is essential to lasting recovery and well-being.

Supporting someone living with a serious mental illness starts with understanding. Learning about mental health conditions can help you respond with empathy and confidence.

The Fulton-DeKalb Hospital Authority is proud to work alongside community partners to connect residents with vital health and mental health resources. When care is coordinated, everyone can get the support they need—at the right time.

We are excited to welcome Dr. Jeremy Cole to the Board of Trustees of The Fulton‑DeKalb Hospital Authority.

Dr. Cole brings a powerful blend of academic rigor, nonprofit leadership, and a deeply human-centered philosophy to this work. His belief that healthcare is foundational infrastructure—much like the roads and bridges that power our communities—align directly with the FDHA’s mission.

We look forward to working alongside Dr. Cole and learning from his commitment to fair, welcoming, and compassionate systems of care. His insight and values will be an extraordinary asset as we continue advancing accessible health outcomes across Fulton and DeKalb counties.

Welcome, Dr. Cole—we are better with you at the table.
