Congratulations to Second Lieutenant Youngblood from on commissioning as a United States Marine Corps Officer today! 2ndLt Youngblood graduated last week with his bachelor’s degree in computer science.

Commissioning through the PLC program he proved himself last summer at Officer Candidate School that he has the mental, moral, and physical qualities necessary to lead our nation’s Marines. We’re proud of you and excited to see what the future has in store!

Big congratulations to Candidate Kenneth Hayes III from on getting selected for the Platoon Leaders Class! He’ll spend the summer up in Quantico, VA then return to Mercer this fall for his senior year.

Hayes is ready to take on the challenge of leading Marines as an officer. He already exhibits the leadership qualities we look for as a treasurer and chaplain in his fraternity Kappa Alpha Order leading by example.
