The Morehouse Battalion was honored to be visited by the Inspector General of the Navy, Vice Admiral John Fuller. During his visit, he discussed his journey in the Navy along with fundamental characteristics that led to his success in progressing through the ranks.
He also provided insight as to what makes a respectable leader. This was an inspiring and heartfelt visit that all of the MIDN will remember and incorporate into their journey in the Navy!

Today marks the 23rd anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and the attempted attack on the US Capitol Building. 2,977 innocent people were killed in these attacks. The Morehouse Battalion honored the lives lost and the bravery exhibited on that day by participating in the 9/11 stair climb at Mercedes Benz. Midshipmen ran 17 rounds of stairs to represent 110 flights of stairs in a memorial to firefighters who entered and attempted to rescue those trapped in the World Trade Center towers.

✨MIDN TAKEOVER: Summer Cruise
Edition ✨Congrats to MIDN 3/C Andre Boyd for completing his summer cruise! Here he writes his experience:

"This summer I had the opportunity of attending Cortramid East in Norfolk, Kingsbay, and Camp Lejeune. I had the opportunity of meeting new MIDN from NROTC UNITS from all over the country. We were exposed to the different unrestricted line commands in the Navy as well as a spectacular experience with the Marine Corps. During Marine week, I served as the Platoon Commander for Charlie Company. Cortramid East taught me many different leadership skills while also exposing me to the fleet."

✨MIDN TAKEOVER: Summer Cruise
Edition ✨Congrats to MIDN 2/C Ryan Fitzpatrick for completing her summer cruise! Here she writes her experience:

"This summer, I had the opportunity to attend CORTRAMID West in San Diego, California. I spent a week with each community, surface warfare, aviation, submarine, and marine. My favorite week was surface week, going underway and interacting with the crew on the USS Higbee was amazing. The highlight of my cruise was driving a submarine and the infantry immersion trainer during marine week."

It's ✨MIDN TAKEOVER: Summer Cruise Edition! ✨
We will start to showcase all the amazing things our Midshipmen have been up to this summer! We start off with MIDN 3/C Marlin Seale's experience in San Diego.

"For 4 weeks between the months of May and June I got the chance to experience the communities the Navy has to offer for unrestricted line officers.
Week 1 was all about surface warfare where we went underway on a DDG and experience what some of the day to day life is like for sailors."
"Week 2 was aviation where we learned about aviation science and what it means to be a pilot and fly in T-34."
"Week 3 was submarine week where we went underway for 36 hours on a submarine and interact with everything possible on the sub."
"Week 4 which was one of my favorite was Marine week where we got to see the day to day of Marine rifleman and talk with the different communities that support them and what it take to be a Marine Corps officer.
There was also an EOD exposure day where midshipman got the chance to talk with EOD officers and what it's like to be a EOD officer."
